Roberson Museum’s Edwin A. Link Planetarium has closed for the season in preparation for a comprehensive upgrade to the region’s only full dome planetarium. Major improvements include modern seating, improved heating and cooling systems, upgrades to the projector stabilization system, and new carpeting and acoustic wall coverings.

The upgrades are made possible through a $250k Assembly Grant secured by Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo. “The Link Planetarium has introduced countless children and families to the wonders of the universe, and gives people a clear view of the sky they cannot ordinarily see. Planetariums also inspire curiosity sparking a lifelong love for science and exploration” says Lupardo. “These much-needed improvements complement the other work being done at Roberson, all designed to create memorable experiences for visitors of all ages. I’d like to thank everyone at the Museum for their dedication to this anchor institution in our community.”

These improvements are part of many exciting changes coming to Roberson Museum as part of a $12 million capital campaign. Guests can expect the Link Planetarium to open in time for Home for the Holidays in November.
