Roberson Museum invites you to experience the storied artistic career of Orazio Salati, an oil painter whose abstractions of nature, landscape, and the human form have captured the imagination of gallery-goers and students alike for more than five decades. For the first time ever, Salati is taking a step back and presenting a timeline of his work in Uncovering the Surface, a specially curated retrospective exhibition that maps out seven distinct periods in his creative journey.

“Exploring the many layers of my life through art has been a passion, a delight, and a struggle, frightening at times, but nevertheless, Uncovering the Surface has been my life’s journey.” – Orazio Salati

A public opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 4, from 12 PM to 4 PM. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, students, and military, and FREE for Roberson Museum Members and children 4 and under.

A member’s preview will be held on Thursday, October 2, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, where Roberson Members are invited to meet the exhibiting artist and see the exhibition ahead of its opening.
