Roberson Museum is proud to present Unexpected Passion, a solo exhibition featuring the work of Binghamton-based photographer Joshua Lasky. This compelling body of work marks a deeply personal exploration of light, portraiture, and the human condition.
Through bold, emotionally resonant portraits, Unexpected Passion invites visitors to experience photography that transcends its traditional boundaries. Drawing inspiration from master painters such as Rembrandt and Caravaggio, alongside renowned photographers like Richard Avedon and Irving Penn, Lasky’s work captures moments that reflect both artistic influence and personal vision.
“The faces you see on these pieces of paper belong to the individuals who have helped me lay the path that guides me through my journey of discovering who I am as an artist,” says Lasky. “Without them, I would be lost.”
A public opening reception will be held on Saturday, February 21, from 12 PM to 2 PM. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, students, and military, and FREE for Roberson Museum Members and children 4 and under.
Roberson Members are invited to attend an exclusive member’s preview on Thursday, February 19, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, offering an opportunity to meet the artist and experience the exhibition ahead of its public opening. Members can RSVP at roberson.org/rsvp
