Embracing the aesthetic of master painters and photography pioneers, Joshua Lasky’s bold portraits blur the line between photo and painting to create a wholly unique style. In this solo exhibition Lasky shares the series of photographs that ignited his unexpected passion for capturing light and the human condition.

About the Artist:

“I discovered the works of  master painters like Rembrandt and Caravaggio, as well as photographers such as Richard Avedon and Irving Penn. Through them I realized that my love fro the medium lies in capturing light and exploring the human condition, much as they did.

I believe these moments, frozen in a fraction of a second, represent who I am as an artist. I truly believe that if I had not clicked the shutter all those years ago, I might never have found this unexpected passion.
