Emil Holzhauer was a German-born American artist known for his scenes of every day life in the first half of the 20th century. Using heavy lines filled with color and rhythmic, harmonic space, Holzhauer’s work incorporated modernist elements of Expressionism, Fauvism, and Social Realism to capture every day scenes.
