Ways to Leave a Legacy
Gift of Appreciated Stock
Donate shares to Roberson to avoid paying capital gains taxes on stocks that have increased in value, enhancing the efficiency of your donation.
Traditional IRA Required Minimum Distribution
If you’re 73 or older, you must take annual Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) from your IRA, potentially elevating your taxable income. However, making a Qualified Charitable Distribution of up to $100,000 allows you to direct part or all of your RMD to Roberson without adding to your taxable income.
Donor-Advised Fund
Give easily through a donor-advised fund (DAF). Contribute money or assets to claim an immediate tax deduction, and the funds can be invested for tax-free growth, with grants made to qualified charities like Roberson at your recommendation.
Gifts in Memoriam
Gifts in Memoriam offer a meaningful way to honor the memory of a loved one by donating in their name. These heartfelt contributions create a lasting legacy and preserve the spirit of those we hold dear.
Beneficiary
As a non-profit entity, Roberson can be named as a full or partial beneficiary of your retirement plan. Such a gift is exempt from income, estate, or inheritance taxes.
Bequest
A bequest is a gift made under a will. Due to the ease of updating your will, bequests offer flexibility compared to other options.
Charitable Remainder Trust
This trust allows you to make a charitable gift while providing an income stream for yourself or other beneficiaries. After a specified period or the passing of the last beneficiary, the remaining trust assets are donated to your chosen charities. You may receive an income tax deduction and avoid capital gains on appreciated donated property.
Gifts of Art or Objects
Bequeathing artwork ensures your collection is cherished for years to come, minimizing potential estate tax and relieving loved ones of the burden of insurance, maintenance, and sale of the art.
