Rocks and Fossils Day

August 24, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Dig-in for a day uncovering the secrets that lie under our feet and the clues that can unravel the mysteries of our world! Roberson is exploring rocks, minerals, and fossils through dynamic activities that investigate these geological mysteries. Planetarium shows will also get into rocks, fossil, and pre-history.

There will also be a complementary coffee station for adults.

Activities (All Day):

1.Rocks and Minerals Identification: Kids will use multiple methods to examine and identify rocks and mineral samples.
2. Fossil Making: Dig up a fossil and make your own clay impression to take home with you.
3. Hatch your Own Mystery Dinosaur: Use vinegar to hatch your own surprise dinosaur egg in this fizzy experiment.
4. Break your own crystal geode to take home. (While supplies last)

12:00PM: Dinosaur Passage to Pangaea
1:00PM:  Mayan Archaeoastronomy*
2:00PM: Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure
3:00PM: The Sun: Our Living Star*

*Includes a tour of the night sky

Admission is $8 for adults; $6 for students/seniors/military; free for kids 4 and under. Members are free.
