BACK ON VIEW

For months, Roberson’s team of expert model train volunteers have stepped up to the challenge of moving the entire layout to its new home in the Heritage Gallery. We’re excited to say that the layout has officially re-opened! Come check out the new views of the Owego side of the layout.

CRAFTING A WORLD CLASS LAYOUT

With the help of Christine Lantz from WSKG, Roberson has been able to document the progress of a major project to TRIPLE the size of the Model Train Layout. It has involved over two year’s worth of volunteer work — 3,000+ hours, and generous contributions from local individuals and business sponsors. Take a look at some clips from WSKG’s “Making Tracks” footage and meet some of the volunteers and see the transformation and detail involved!

Roberson’s exhibition designers and Education staff, together with our volunteer Binghamton Model Railroad Engineers (BMRE), have developed a spectacular design for an even more impressive Expanded Model Train Layout.

OVER 3,500 VOLUNTEER hours have been put in since March of 2011 to design, construct, detail and expand our ever popular train display.

Project Volunteers

A big thanks to Woodland Scenics, Classic Metal Works, Village Train & Hobby, Walthers, Security Mutual IBM, Canadian Pacific, Olum’s and our generous donors for their contributions to this fantastic project.
