The following is a list of summer camps offered at Roberson Museum and Science Center. Registration is required. Sign up below or call 772-0660 to register. Please note that camps require a minimum number of participants, and are subject to change. Please check the Museum website frequently for additional course offerings, lectures, and program cancelations. Scholarships for tuition are available; call for more information. All materials included.

JULY CAMPS

Drawing and Animation Camp
July 6-8, Grades 5 and up
Let’s put things in motion: hand and computer drawings, toys and found objects, even the clay models that we build in-class! This popular camp begins with basic forms of animation, like flipbooks, then moves on to computer animation programs and ends with campers scripting, filming and editing their own claymation short. All materials included.

Space Explorations Camp
July 13-15, Grades 4 -8
To infinity and beyond! Create a new space mission, discover how the solar system was formed and learn to navigate by the stars! Campers will get to create their own constellations and build a rocket. Step into the world of science and science fiction to make a short video of your own. All materials included.

Forensic Science Camp: Crime Scene Investigations
July 20-22, Grades 4 – 8
Explore the exciting world of forensic science including crime scene investigation, evidence analysis, witness interrogation and fingerprinting! At the end of the camp students conduct a trial with a jury of parents where they attempt to prove their case using the evidence they have collected. All materials included.

Indiana Jones Camp
July 27-29, Grades 3 – 7
Go on adventure and hunt for treasure! Campers will dig for artifacts and research their findings to explore different cultures. Get hands on practice of restoration skills and create a time capsule for future generations to find! All materials included.

AUGUST CAMPS

Dinosaur Detectives Camp
August 3-5, Grades 2 – 6
Travel back in time to the Mesozoic era and explore the age of dinosaurs. Search for fossils and learn how to identify prehistoric creatures. Discover unique adaptations that enable dinosaurs to survive and create your own animated dinosaur from your findings. All materials included.

Go GREEN Boot Camp
August 10-12, Grades 3 – 7
Think GREEN! Campers explore eco-friendly activities related to recycling and renewable resources. Then it’s time to get creative and make something old NEW again. Campers will use recycled materials to make their very own creation to take home. All materials included.

The Amazing Roberson Race Camp
August 17-19, Grades 3 – 8
Inspired by the popular TV show — Campers race around the world without ever leaving Roberson! Participants will follow clues to new locations and compete in fun challenges that reflect different cultures and countries. All materials included.
