2012 was a year of  success, growth and good news for Roberson Museum and Science Center.  Thank you!   Your support as members, visitors, donors, community partners and special event attendees is demonstrating how valuable Roberson is to you.

It is you, our community members, that have made the Roberson “ticket” such a hot commodity.  We achieve SOLD OUT standards on many of our events and stage performances.  This was true, also, of our Masquerade in the Mansion New Year’s Eve celebration, with nearly 400 guests helping us ring in 2013 in style.

Roberson’s story of success is receiving attention in the museum world at the state and national level.  We will proudly be lead panelists at Museumwise’s 2013 “Museums in Conversation” conference this April in Syracuse.   Additionally, Roberson’s Executive Director Terry McDonald will be presenting at the American Alliance of Museum’s national conference in Baltimore this May.  These presentations will highlight the processes and changes we have made to meet and exceed our visionary role in the community.

Roberson Museum and Science Center is also a project award recipient, part of the Regional Economic Development Council Awards announced in December.  With the award, we will be developing a facilities master plan for our entire campus to ensure a secure and state-of-the-art physical environment.  The Roberson campus includes a historic mansion, museum and historic home listed on the National and State Historic Registers.  We are thrilled to be recognized as an integral part of the plans for economic growth in the Southern Tier.

Roberson will re-open to the public January 23.  We’re closed now as we transition from Home for the Holidays and prepare for some exciting additions.  We look forward to sharing some major changes and new exhibitions with you in 2013.  Here is a glimpse at some upcoming events:
