Roberson is exploring rocks\, minerals\, and fossils through dynamic activities that investigate these geological mysteries. \nActivities will be taking place across the Museum in the Wet Lab\, Activity Lab\, Carousel Theater\, and Courtyard. \nPerfect for families. \nWhen: Saturday\, August 28 from 11:00AM – 3:00PM \nAdmission is $8 for adults; $6 for students/seniors/military; free for kids 4 and under. Members are always free. Community members are also welcome to make use of Roberson’s Pay It Forward program and get into this event at no charge. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW  \nEnter your carved pumpkin in our Halloween Pumpkin Contest! Friday\, October 28th through Saturday\, October 29th will feature submitted pumpkins in Roberson’s courtyard for the public to see and vote on. Pumpkin entries will also be featured on our social media platforms for public voting. Voting will end at 5 PM on the 29th\, the pumpkin that has the most votes wins a cash prize! \nPre-registration is required\, submission is only $5! Contestants can drop they’re pumpkins off between 12 PM Friday\, Oct. 21st – 5 PM Thursday\, Oct. 27th. \nQ & A: \nWho can submit a carved pumpkin? Anyone! This contest is open to the public. \nHow many people can participate? We are accepting a maximum of 30 carved pumpkins (1 pumpkin per person). \nDo I have to pre-register? Yes. We will not be taking any pumpkin walk-ins. \nWhere do I bring my carved pumpkin once it’s done? Contestants can drop-off they’re carved pumpkins off at the front desk between 12 PM Friday\, Oct. 21st – 5 PM Thursday\, Oct. 27th. Someone will be available to help get your pumpkin set up in the courtyard. \nDo I have to pick my pumpkin back up? Yes\, you can pick your pumpkin up at the end of the day 4-5 PM on Saturday\, Oct 29th  and 12 PM – 5 PM Sunday\, Oct. 30th. Come trick or treat through the Museum in your cutest or spookiest costume and enjoy a day filled with fun\, educational activities. \nLearn the art of Witch-Craft (paper craft) in the activity lab and get hands-on in the Mad Science Lab with some spooky Halloween activities. Plus\, take a tour of the Roberson Mansion and learn of its haunting lore\, and hear a haunting ghost story from the Broome County Library. \nAdditionally\, Roberson will be holding it’s first Carved Pumpkin Contest during the event (separate sign up). \nPlanetarium shows will also be available for purchase at the Admissions Desk. DESCRIPTION:A living centerpiece makes a wonderful addition to tables shared in real life or virtually. Create an interesting landscape with hidden miniature house plants\, mosses and colorful tropical plants. We will follow techniques for creating dish gardens and terrariums. Choose from a variety of shallow glass dishes for a base. Working with floral wiring techniques and an abundance of natural and decorative elements each design will burst with life and interest. Whether a cornucopia or mini forest scene make your living centerpiece your own. \nThis class is great for all skill levels and is slightly messy. \nAll design elements and tools will be provided in class. \nYour teacher will be Jasmine of KoKaDema Flora in Binghamton\, NY.
