Nature’s Best Photography & NatureTrek Members-Only Opening Reception

February 15, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Members of Roberson are invited to join us on February 15 from 5 pm – 8 pm as we unveil our newest exhibitions “NatureTrek” and “Nature’s Best Photography.”

A little bit about each exhibition:

NatureTrek – An exploration and celebration of the natural world that surrounds us. Anchored by over 150 mounted specimens from Roberson’s Lee J. Loomis collection, NatureTrek invites you to walk through the established deciduous and transitional forests, wetlands, meadow, and backyard habitats that abound in our region. On your journey, you’ll meet dozens of mammals and birds that occupy these ecological niches. Having made their acquaintance, you’ll learn where you can see them in nature preserves close to your home, and what you can do to assure that they, and the places they live, continue to prosper.

Nature’s Best Photography – An award-winning showcase of 50 stunning large-scale photographs. The collection includes images from a wide variety of international photographers who have captured the natural beauty and wonder of our planet’s creatures and habitats.

Each photograph is accompanied with an in-depth look into how each photographer was able to capture
such an amazing shot. Some of the stories are truly inspiring! This year we’ll introduce 50 brand-new and awe-inspiring images.

Plus, we’ll complement the photographic exhibition with several unique and diverse animal specimens, from our extensive collection.

The only other museum to feature Nature’s Best Photography is the Smithsonian Museum of Natural
History in Washington, DC!

RSVP by February 12 to: jstonehe@www.roberson.org or 607-772-0660 ext. 210
