Blast Off to Space Day

Let’s explore the stars, planets, asteroids, and everything that lies just beyond Earth on March 14! Experience the wonders of space through space station activities, planetarium shows, space-themed crafts, and more.
Perfect for families and kids.
1st Floor Theater: Space Satellites
Explore the satellite images from our Earth From Space exhibition with a scavenger hunt. Also, build your own ISS: In this advanced origami activity you can build your own International Space Station to take home with you!
2nd Floor Wet Lab: “Fly Me To the Moon”
Create a moon cup spinner to take home and help you learn the phases of Earth’s biggest satellite. Also, participate in a “moon dust” experiment.
2nd Floor Activity Lab: Space-Crafts
Create a crafty comet on a stick that you can use to fly around in the air. Also. Create your favorite constellation on paper that can be projected onto a wall or table using a flashlight.
Planetarium Shows:
11:30PM: The Hot and Energetic Universe*
12:30PM: Earth, Moon & Sun*
1:30PM: Asteroid: Mission Extreme*
2:30PM: Back to the Moon for Good*Update*
*All include night sky tours*
Admission is $8 for adults; $6 for students/seniors/military; free for kids 4 and under. Members are free. Planetarium shows are an additional $4 (members also free).
