An Historic Running Tour 5k

Grab your sweat-wicking garments, and for heaven’s sake run like the dickens, because we’re racing through this history tour!
Historic walking tours? Pish-posh! Too slow! So, let’s take a 5K run (or walk) through the hidden history and sights within fabulous downtown Binghamton.
Even if you’re nowhere near Binghamton you can take this running tour through the theater of your mind. As you run along your own route (or the one provided), you’ll hear the stories that live within this city on an exclusive audio tour.
If you love history and running, this 5K tour is for you!
This run supports education and outreach initiatives at the Roberson Museum and Science Center.
Choose your running package
$15 – The Tour ($12 for Roberson Members)
With this package, you’ll get a link to the running tour, with which you can listen to while you run through downtown Binghamton (or wherever you may be), seeing the sights and learning some hidden history. You’ll also receive one free admission to Roberson Museum.
+$22 – An Historic Run T-Shirt

When does this 5K take place?
You can run or walk this 5K tour anytime between April 24 and May 23. It’s a virtual run, so do so at your leisure. Enthusiasts can submit their run time (honor system) to a virtual leader board.
Will there be prizes?
Yes! Everyone who signs up for this run will have a chance to receive a care package of gifts.
What’s the designated loop?
Here’s a link to the map. However, feel free to map out your own 5k loop and run while enjoying some fascinating bits of history.
Do I have to run the designated loop?
No. This running tour is supposed to be fun. You can start the run at the Roberson Museum and Science Center (there is ample parking available) and pick up your free admission and t-shirt (if you ordered one). Or you can have your things shipped and listen to the tour elsewhere.
Where can I listen to the tour?
Links to the audio of the tour will be sent out a few days prior to the April start date, along with a link to submit your run-time (honor system). Depending on the app you use for music/podcasts on your phone or mp3 player, you may be able to stitch the tour portions of the run in with your sweet running jams.
Why an historic 5K tour?
Uhhh, because history is amazing and running is a great way to stay fit while also learning about the wonderful parts of an amazing city. Also, where else can you do something like this?
